Oh Drew. What the fug? And the face paint? Did a character from Roswell recently heal you? (hee)

And also, Justin...love the glasses, but the rest of the ensemble? The pants are okay but with the marlins shirt? Oh lord no.

| bad fashion, bad! |
[20 Jun 2009|09:17am] |
I get updates from Shop it To Me...and I've picked designers that sort of intrigue me and ones I actually own (as well as practical stores I shop at).
But sometimes there are items featured where I'm like oh hell to the no!
These are some of those oh NO way items---
 Yeah a strapless jumpsuit priced at over $1000
 You want winter boots, but need a heel...

Okay now if this was just a cotton top, I'd like it. But its a cashmere sweater. Tie-dye + cashmere? No that's wrong

Dizzy, Jimmy Eat World |
] |
Been listening to Jimmy Eat World's "Chase This Light" cd and I'm loving it.
Made me realize just how much I have loved this band.
++
Other music I plan to listen to today:
Middle Cyclone, Neko Case Dark was the Night compilation Forth, The Verve The Seldom Seen Kid, Elbow
++
Last night's running songs:
1. The Devil Wouldn't Recognize, Madonna 2.
Okaaaaay I totally just spaced the other 2. Good lord. Pass the Ginkgo Biloba! But I try to consistently run at a good pace to the first song that come up. Then I sort of walk/jog to the 2nd song. Run to the 3rd song and by the time I reach the 4th song I'm usually home (I go for about 1.5 miles, there is another route I take that is 3 miles RT but that includes a stop at the park and Max was being a booger so we didn't do that).
++
Last night I caught the first 2 eps of True Blood. Since I don't have HBO I will have to wait a billion years to see S2 (which is about to debut) but I figure I can still watch S1 via Netflix and enjoy it. And I have a hold for the first two of the Sookie Stackhouse books courtesy of my lovely library.
In even more news, I paid off my Jeep this week. So to reward myself I'm ordering a few things for myself from Lush and buying the remainder of the seasons of The Shield that are out, I did love that show so much!
Also was happy to learn that mrsbeis and I share soooo many silly things in common as of late that its a bit eerie. ;) Happy Friday all! Mel

| Say what now? |
[08 Jun 2009|08:21am] |
Sorry this headline alone made me double-take this morning...
Bret Michaels Injured at the Tony Awards
It just didn't quite compute with me...
Something about Bret Michaels and the combinations of the Tony Awards (you know, awards for those with actual talent?!) sort of caught me offguard.
And I hear he performed and lip-synched? No shocker there.

| allergy hell |
[20 May 2009|03:19pm] |
Question for any readers of this entry....
I am still in allergy hell and seeking relief.
I have tried: Generic OTC Claritin Alavert Generic OTC Zyrtec
Nothing seems to really work for me to help it so I can breathe. I don't have any other symptoms, my eyes are fine, I'm just wicked congested.
Now I know I should just go get something prescription strength...but before doing that, anything else I should try that people have had success with?
Thanks! Sniffling Mel

| I'd take any of the above, bikini poll |
[19 May 2009|08:30am] |

Okay so People Magazine posted a poll as to who looks best in their green bikini.
Can I take any of the above?? Granted I think Kelly Ripa is TOO thin and I know Audrina bought some of her best assets...I also know that Valerie Bertinelli (sp) works out 5x a week a couple hours at a time...heck, if I had the time I'd do that if I could look that good!
Yowza. This makes me regret my mochachino. And makes me realize we are taking an extra long walk today. We have to take back our newly purchased jogging stroller because we have a defunct front wheel that wobbles like mad and no matter how much Darin adjusted it and readjusted it, it still wobbles and I have to have it on "non swivel" mode which kind of defeats the purpose of the stroller having that feature in the first place.
And I might buy some of that cellulite lotion that Nivea makes and try the "Skinny jeans" challenge --http://www.niveausa.com/highlights/local_highlight/local_msj2009challenge?source=skinnyjeanschallenge&deeplink_path=skinnyjeanschallenge&deeplink_id=7961& - I hate that Denise Richards is the spokesmodel/woman for that campaign as I have her on my list of "people I'd like to punch"
Okay...ranty enough for the morning.

| Ummm okay random connection to diabetes |
[18 May 2009|08:55am] |
|
If you're a size D or larger at age 20, you may be up to five times more likely to develop diabetes than your flat-chested friends, according to a study published in the Canadian Medical Association Journal. This finding is surprising because it indicates that breast size is a significant factor independent of body mass index (BMI). However powerful these findings are, more studies and research remains to be done to be entirely conclusive.
++++
Okay um yeah more studies need to be conducted on that one. Pre-pregnancy I was a 36D, now I'm sort of a 36C, although I swear I don't know if its the birth control I'm using or what but I think they are back to being D's again...its bizarre.
But seriously, large breasts = higher chance of diabetes? That seems a wee random. I mean it doesn't take overall body size, diet, and other health indicators into account.
I just read that this morning and went "huh?"

| Song Suggestions Needed |
[18 May 2009|08:40am] |
Morning all!
So I've started to run again. And Darin bought me a jogging stroller so I can take Max along for the walks/runs and now my plan is to take one walk a day and two walks on weekends. So far that goal has been met :) I'm proud of myself...its just crazy because I used to run track in high school and college and I thought I could just leap back into being into shape....err not so fast , but I'll get there.
I'm looking for songs you like to work out to :) Or like to dance it out to...
I'm trying to make a fun playlist on my ipod of songs that will keep me moving.
Any/all suggestions would be great.
So far I do have some Kelly Clarkson and Justin Timberlake and the new New Kids release (ha) but I'd love other ideas...
Thanks all!
